Psalm 3 is a prayer of David when he fled from Absalom, his son. (2 Sam 15) At this point, David's life had spun completely out of control. He was suffering from the shame and guilt of adultery, murder, the rape of his daughter, the death of one son and now he was running for his life from the other son.
These are stories we don't seem to hear much about, huh? There is so much to say about David and the things he could have done or the things he should have done. What about the thing we find here in Psalm 3? He did not cast away his confidence in the divine nature of God!
Even though David was guilty of the things he was accused of...he called out to God anyway! He knew Him and was confident in GOD not himself.
David knew pain! He knew sin. He knew shame. He knew war. He knew guilt. HE ALSO KNEW GOD and it's clear here in this passage of scriptures!
